How to Install collectd software package in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin)

collectd software package provides statistics collection and monitoring daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install collectd

collectd is installed in your system.

Make ensure the collectd package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep collectd *

You will get with collectd package name, version, architecture and description in a table
